Comprehensive Neuropsychological Assessment
A thorough neuropsychological evaluation offers a detailed understanding of your child's cognitive, academic, and socio-emotional functioning. Each assessment includes:

1. Record review: A review of relevant records, such as past evaluations, report cards, and educational plans.
2. Parent interview (1-2 hours): A conversation with parents to gather detailed background information, discuss current concerns, and review developmental, medical, and educational history.

3. Questionnaires: Parents, teachers, and, when appropriate, students complete questionnaires that assess various areas.
-
Socioemotional and behavioral functioning
-
Adaptive functioning
-
Executive functioning
-
Personality

4 Direct testing and student interview (6-8 hours)
One-on-one evaluation of:
-
Intellectual abilities
-
Attention and executive functioning
-
Learning and memory
-
Sensorimotor and visual skills
-
Language and phonological processing
-
Academic skills

Student interview: The child, adolescent, or young adult also participates in a conversation to share their experiences, discuss socioemotional functioning, and explore their own questions for the evaluation.

5. Parent feedback session (1½ hours): A meeting to review the assessment findings, discuss recommendations, and answer questions about the results.
6. Child feedback session (15-30 minutes): For developmentally ready individuals, this session provides a personalized explanation of strengths, areas for growth, and strategies for success, as well as an opportunity to ask questions.
7. Comprehensive report: A detailed written report that describes the findings, clinical impressions, and practical recommendations to
support learning, development, and well-being. Reports are typically completed within three to four weeks after the feedback session.

Additional services (as needed)
-
School Observation: Teacher questionnaires typically provide adequate insight into a student's functioning in the school setting. When needed, I consult with school staff to obtain a clearer understanding of their concerns. School observations are also conducted when necessary to clarify a student’s functioning across different environments.

-
Collaboration with other clinicians and learning specialists: I partner with treating clinicians—such as pediatricians, therapists, speech-language pathologists—and learning specialists to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the student's needs.

-
Attendance at school meetings (such as IEP or 504 meetings): When requested, in-person or remote attendance at school meetings can be arranged.
Giftedness Evaluation
These evaluations assess a student's intellectual functioning or aptitude and are often required for admission to specialized programs. Gifted evaluations include a written report. Academic testing can be included if desired, but is not included in the standard fee. Please note that medical insurance does not cover this service.
Abbreviated Evaluations
For individuals previously assessed who have begun remediation, a focused, abbreviated evaluation may be appropriate to monitor progress and growth. This may also be appropriate for individuals who received a more basic evaluation and seek clarity or more detail about their functioning or diagnoses.

Advocacy
While recommendations are typically incorporated into school-based support plans, I am available to attend 504 and IEP meetings upon request. This service is not included in the standard assessment fee and can be arranged separately.

Second Opinions
I am available to review records from other clinicians to provide my impressions and additional recommendations.
